Marvel fans were bracing for a big Avengers: Doomsday reveal today — and got a coffee shop instead. Dom Latveria Coffee, a rebranded Flying Horse Coffee outlet in Shoreditch, east London, opened near the SXSW London festival, where directors Joe and Anthony Russo are scheduled to appear to discuss their production company.
The shop sells Latveria-branded bags of small-batch coffee bearing the fictional country's emblem — the same design that the Russos and Donald Mustard, formerly the head of Fortnite, have been teasing piece by piece on social media over the past week, fuelling speculation about an incoming trailer. The bags read: "The official coffee of world domination. Approved by the ministry of morale. Resistance is delicious." A sign on the regular menu board adds "Welcome to Latveria" and the cryptic line "Richards was wrong." A flat white will set you back £4.10.
To be fair, Mustard's post yesterday did include the Flying Horse Coffee address — just without naming the branch or explaining what was there. Most fans assumed it pointed to the nearby SXSW venue. A promised "surprise at 2pm" had also not yet happened at the time of writing, leaving a slim window for something more to materialise.
Fan reaction online has been a mix of disappointment and dry humour. "That's all there is at the popup?" one viewer wrote after watching footage from the shop. On X, Marvel fan Andrei Von Doom commented: "At this point, I think the 'surprise' will be the Russo Brothers and RDJ showing up there. Honestly, I hope I'm wrong and we get a Doomsday trailer today." Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026.
