Halo: Campaign Evolved launches July 28, pre-orders open now

Halo: Campaign Evolved has a release date: July 28, 2026. Premium and Collector's Edition owners get up to five days of early access starting July 23. The game lands on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5, and it's in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one. Xbox Play Anywhere means a single purchase covers both console and PC.

The Xbox Games Showcase brought the New Missions Trailer, which gave the first proper look at Operation: METEORITE — a new three-mission story arc set one year before the original game's events. Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson go behind enemy lines on a clandestine UNSC mission aboard a Covenant research vessel, and what starts as a smash-and-grab escalates fast. New threats include the Brute Berserker, and the action extends into space. The story was co-developed with award-winning sci-fi author Troy Denning, a longtime contributor to the Halo fiction across multiple novels. Operation: METEORITE is included in every edition.

Pre-orders are live now on Xbox, Steam, and PlayStation. Standard Edition runs $49.99 / £49.99 / €59.99, Premium Edition is $69.99 / £69.99 / €79.99, and the Collector's Edition is $199.99 / €199.99 (available at HaloWaypoint). Premium adds early access, the Alpha Halo Armory Pack — five Master Chief armor skins and six weapon skins — plus a Digital Story & Art Collection that includes Troy Denning's short story Halo: Hungry Buzzards, a digital artbook, and a digital manual modeled on the original 2001 release. The Collector's Edition piles on a 12-inch Dark Horse Master Chief statue, a light-up LED Cortana chip, a Steelbook, three concept art prints, a physical game manual, and a disc for Xbox Series X and PS5. Every pre-order gets the Foundry Armory Pack, which includes the Classic 2001 Mark V Armor skin, Classic 2001 Assault Rifle skin, and Gilded Onyx armor and weapon styles.

The game supports cross-play and cross-progression across Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, and PS5. Global launch is July 28 at 8am PDT — July 29 in Japan and select Asia-Pacific markets. Early access kicks off July 23 at 8am PDT.
