Cold Iron Studios and Daybreak Game Company have confirmed Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is coming to Switch 2 this autumn. The game launches on other platforms first on 25th August 2026, with the Switch 2 version following later in the season.
The sequel builds on the 2021 original — a co-op shooter where up to three players (or AI companions) fight through waves of Xenomorphs across multiple levels. Fireteam Elite 2 bumps the squad size up to four, adding a new playable character to the roster.
The original Aliens: Fireteam Elite was a solid if unspectacular entry in the licensed co-op shooter space, finding a steady audience among fans of the franchise and the genre. Cold Iron Studios, which developed the first game, is back for the sequel alongside Daybreak Game Company.
No specific Switch 2 release date beyond "autumn" has been given. Players on other platforms won't have to wait — the game is less than two months out as of now.
