Genshin Impact Luna 7 introduces the first playable Hexenzirkel member and returns to Sumeru

HoYoverse wrapped up a new Special Program revealing everything about Genshin Impact's next major update, Luna 7 — full title Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana. It lands on May 20 and heads back to Sumeru with a new Archon Quest chapter.

The headliner is Nicole Reeyn, the first playable member of the Hexenzirkel. She's a 5-Star Pyro Catalyst user built as a support, buffing the ATK of every party member including those sitting off-field, while also generating a shield. Her Elemental Burst summons an Arcane Projection that trails the active character and fires Coordinated Attacks matching that character's elemental type. Outside of combat, she can call a Seelie to guide you toward hidden treasures — handy, since Luna 7 lets you explore inside the Witch's Lodge during her Meeting Point. The second new character is Lohen, Vice Captain of the Knights of Favonius' Fifth Company — another 5-Star, but a Cryo Polearm user built for aggressive play. He manages two unique resources, Joy and Will to Win, entering a Masterstroke state through his Elemental Skill to build and spend Joy for enhanced attacks, while his teammates' actions stack Will to Win for further power boosts. A third playable character is also part of the update, though full details weren't revealed in the source. Players who clear the new Archon Quest chapter at launch earn up to 560 Primogems and Nicole's Ascension Materials, and unlock a new Weekly Boss that HoYo describes as having "unpredictable abilities."

Sumeru returns to the spotlight with a crisis threatening to throw the nation into chaos — Nahida is out of the picture, and a figure who looks a lot like Il Dottore has shown up. Luna 7 also introduces the Guiding Notes feature for returning players, catching them up on story events quickly. HoYoverse frames this as part of a broader push to make story progression more seamless, alongside improved quest autosave prompts.

Luna 7 goes live May 20, and Nicole's status as the first playable Hexenzirkel member will make her a major draw for anyone invested in Genshin Impact's lore.
