Gothic Remake: where to find Caine and complete The Lost Apprentice quest

As part of Gothic Remake's main quest, you're sent to the Swamp Camp to track down Caine, a mole secretly feeding intel back to your camp. Finding him is a proper ordeal that spans two locations and ends with a boss fight.

Start by talking to Cor Kalom, the alchemist whose formula you lifted during The Cult's Recipe quest — asking him about Caine kicks off The Lost Apprentice quest. He doesn't know where Caine is, but his shack near the Swampweed mashers holds a clue. From the Swamp Camp entrance where Lester hangs out, head right and follow the path along the water with the pier, pass the swamp weed mashers on the left and the first hut, then go into the second hut on the right. Inside you'll find a drawing pointing to the locked Abandoned Mine near the Exchange Zone. Grab it, speak to Lester at the entrance, then head north-east on the map. Before you go, it's worth finishing The Price of Magic if you don't have the fire bolt rune yet, and stocking up on swamp weed for mana regen — there's a long stretch ahead.

At the Abandoned Mine, you'll need to convince Orry to hand over the key. If you're with the Old Camp, just tell him Raven sent you and he'll cooperate. The mine itself is mostly traversal with a lot of underwater swimming. The one tricky section is a large pool with an underwater gate: dive to the center of the pool to grab the Detached Winch, then climb up to the platform above the gate, reattach it, and the gate opens. Push through to the ruins and you'll find Caine's corpse guarded by an undead orc. Beat the boss, take the Strange Amulet it drops, and head back to Cor Kalom to wrap up The Lost Apprentice.
