Marvel's Wolverine gets a gameplay deep-dive and a release date: September 15, 2026

Insomniac Games used PlayStation's State of Play to drop a proper gameplay trailer for Marvel's Wolverine and lock in a release date: September 15, 2026, exclusively on PS5. Pre-orders are open now.

The game follows James "Logan" Howlett as he tracks a group of mutants captured by the Reavers, a cybernetic mercenary outfit working for Bolivar Trask — a billionaire industrialist with a fanatical belief in human superiority. Jean Grey, a powerful telekinetic, joins Logan as a key ally and emergent leader of the captured mutants. Combat is fast and brutal, built around claw attacks and special moves called Techniques — including Tornado Spin and Bull Rush — plus Critical Strikes that Logan can pull off solo or alongside other characters. Every hit, parry, and kill charges Logan's Rage meter, which powers stronger attacks or activates his Healing Factor. Push Rage to its ceiling and you hit Rage Tier 3: a stylized monochromatic frenzy inspired by Marvel Comics' Black, White, and Blood series. One standout set piece has Wolverine tearing through a highway on a motorcycle, slashing tires and hurling Reavers off trucks. When health bottoms out, Last Stand kicks in — activating the Healing Factor and keeping Logan in the fight.

The standard disc edition is priced at SGD 89.80 / MYR 299 / IDR 1,169,000 / THB 2,290 / PHP 4,099 / VND 1,799,000, while the Digital Deluxe Edition runs SGD 99.90 / MYR 399 / IDR 1,349,000 / THB 2,690. Pre-order bonuses include the Classic Brown suit, Reflective Claws, one extra Technique Point, and four PS Avatars. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds five exclusive suits (Incredible, Savage, Age of Apocalypse, Night Hunt, New Leather), five exclusive claw sets, and three additional Technique Points — all cosmetic. Disc pre-orders in Thailand start June 4. Insomniac also confirmed a full suite of accessibility options at launch covering cognitive, visual, auditory, and motor needs.
