Return of the Ancients explains the Genesis Tree and how it works

Return of the Ancients has detailed the Genesis Tree, a core crafting system that lets players forge valuable currencies and powerful items in the fight against the Hiveborn.

The Genesis Tree sits inside the Keepers of the Flames monastery. According to the game's lore, the Dreamer himself stole it from the enemy and gave it to the Keepers, which allowed Ailith to craft a breachstone capable of piercing Hiveborn territory. Without Hiveblood, though, the Tree is starting to wither.

Players will need to gather Hiveblood to open new branches of experimentation, specialization, and discovery within the Tree. The developers released a video showing off the kinds of combinations players can put together.
