WD Green SN3000 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD drops to $129 at Newegg

Newegg's official AliExpress storefront is selling the WD Green SN3000 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD for $129.48 with free shipping — apply coupon code 15USAFF to knock $15 off at checkout. The same drive goes for $160 on Amazon, so this is a solid saving on a reputable brand.

The SN3000 is a DRAM-less PCIe 4x4 drive built on SanDisk QLC 3D NAND, hitting up to 5,000 MB/s read and 4,200 MB/s write. That puts it just under Sony's recommended 5,500 MB/s minimum for PS5 expansion, but in practice you'll only feel the gap during large file transfers or game installs — day-to-day loading is effectively identical. It's also a capable boot drive for a gaming PC.

PS5 storage expansion has become almost mandatory for serious players. Sony's stock 1TB drive leaves only around 667GB of usable space, and modern games routinely hit 100GB each — even a 2TB drive fills up fast for heavy users. Installing an M.2 SSD in the PS5 is straightforward and doesn't void the warranty, though Sony recommends adding a heatsink. The SN3000 doesn't include one, but a compatible heatsink runs about $6 on Amazon and attaches with adhesive.

At $129.48 this is one of the better-value 1TB PCIe 4.0 drives available right now from a name-brand manufacturer. Just remember to grab that coupon code before checking out — the discount doesn't apply automatically.
