Xbox Game Pass June Wave 2: EA Sports FC 26, Call of Duty Vanguard, and More

Xbox Game Pass June 2026 Wave 2 is here, and the headliner is EA Sports FC 26, which landed on EA Play on June 18 — timed neatly with the ongoing World Cup. Call of Duty Vanguard, the 2021 Sledgehammer Games entry, also joins the service on June 17.

The full wave runs through early July. Junkster, a 3D action platformer where a construction bot named Um-13 repairs his ship on a junkyard planet, launched day one on June 16. Abyssus, a one-to-four player FPS roguelite set in underwater ruins, arrives June 25. RV There Yet?, a co-op survival road trip through the deadly Mabutts Valley, hits June 30. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 drops July 2, now also available on Game Pass Premium. Winds of Arcana: Ruination, a fully voiced 2.5D action Metroidvania, closes the wave on July 6. EA Sports FC 26 itself brings overhauled gameplay with more responsive dribbling, smarter AI, two new gameplay presets — Competitive and Authentic — and a brand-new international tournament mode covering 48 national teams. Game Pass members also get a Supercharge Pack available June 18 through July 17, plus Football Ultimate Team Draft Tokens and 10% off EA digital purchases.

This wave lands during a turbulent moment for Xbox. New boss Asha Sharma's "reset" of the gaming business has triggered a wave of grim news: Xbox Game Studios head Craig Duncan stepped down, and Bloomberg reports that Ninja Theory, Double Fine, and Compulsion are among studios currently negotiating with Xbox to avoid closure — with buyouts and layoffs both on the table. Sharma's internal memo revealed Xbox's gaming business is running at a 3% profit margin, and that excluding Activision Blizzard King, Microsoft spent over $20 billion on gaming over five years while annual revenue dropped nearly half a billion. Game Pass itself lost "millions of subscribers" after a 50% price hike in October 2025, according to new chief strategy officer Matthew Ball — a cut Sharma has since reversed.

The Game Pass lineup announcement went ahead regardless, with no comment from Microsoft on the studio closure reports. The layoffs are expected to land by June 30, the end of Microsoft's financial year.
