Activision jokes about Captain Price's mustache after Barry Sloane appears in House of the Dragon

Barry Sloane, the actor behind Captain Price in the modern Call of Duty games, turned up in House of the Dragon Season 3 as Ser Adrian Redfort — and Activision couldn't resist the crossover moment. The official Call of Duty account posted "The mustache transcends timelines" after viewers spotted Sloane in the July 11 episode.

Sloane was cast in House of the Dragon back in April 2025, making his debut in that Season 3 episode. He'll be back as Captain Price in Modern Warfare 4, launching this October. The character has changed significantly since Modern Warfare 3 — Price has gone rogue, and the game's official description frames him as a man chasing revenge: "A hunt for revenge draws Price toward a weapon powerful enough to shift the balance of power, setting in motion a conflict far greater than he ever anticipated." He's described as being "forced into uneasy alliances and illicit operations" with consequences he can no longer escape.

Captain Price is one of the most iconic characters in shooter history. Billy Murray originally played him in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare back in 2007, and the character has remained a series constant ever since. Sloane took over the role for the rebooted Modern Warfare trilogy.

The social media post landed well — the mustache connection between a grizzled SAS captain and a medieval knight is exactly the kind of low-effort, high-reward joke that tends to travel. Modern Warfare 4 hits in October, so expect Activision to keep leaning into Sloane's rising profile between now and launch.
