The grips clip onto the Joy-Con 2s near the release triggers and are actually easier to attach than Dbrand's Killswitch equivalents, with no wiggle once seated. The backplate has cutouts for all ports and buttons, and — a genuine differentiator — the whole assembly fits inside the Switch 2 dock. Belkin says its engineers found no overheating issues, and the cover has large ventilation holes, though the reviewer noticed the console felt warmer than usual after a docked session. The magnetic battery just slaps onto the back and plugs in via cable; despite the MagSafe-style attachment, it doesn't add wireless charging.

On ergonomics, the grip is a mixed bag. The texture is fine, but the way the grips flare outward made the reviewer's hands feel like they were being pushed away during certain movements — noticeable in detached Joy-Con play especially, causing some reflexive hand tension. It's better than bare Joy-Cons, but doesn't disappear into your hands the way a well-designed grip should.
