Brewers Pitcher Jacob Misiorowski Has a Charizard Card in His All-Star Glove

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski showed up to the All-Star Game with a custom glove built by 44 Pro — and tucked inside the webbing is a Charizard card. The glove itself is designed to match: orange, red, and yellow on the outside to evoke the fire-breathing Pokémon.

44 Pro made the glove specifically for the All-Star Game, adding a small window in the webbing to display a trading card. Misiorowski is a known Pokémon and baseball card collector, and this isn't the first time 44 Pro has leaned into that — a previous custom glove for him featured Gengar. The Charizard is safe from line drives tonight, though, because Misiorowski won't actually pitch in the game. He opted out due to scheduling conflicts with his regular starts, and arm fatigue also forced him to skip his last start before the All-Star break.

Misiorowski has been one of the most electric arms in baseball this season — his fastball has been clocked as high as 105.5 MPH, and he's put up a 15-strikeout game. The Brewers currently sit in first place in their division, though his absence from that final pre-break start didn't help: the Pittsburgh Pirates swept Milwaukee, scoring 10 runs in a single inning and putting up seven runs before recording a single out.

In a strange footnote, the Pirates have scored the most runs in baseball so far this season, yet not one Pittsburgh position player made the All-Star roster. Misiorowski's Charizard card is probably the most famous thing connected to tonight's game that won't actually see any action.
