Eight Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass on July 31

Eight more games are getting cut from Xbox Game Pass on July 31, capping off a heavy month of removals. Pure Xbox spotted the list first via the "Leaving Soon" tab in the Xbox mobile app.

The departing titles are Back to the Dawn, Celeste, Crusader Kings 3, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, My Friendly Neighborhood, Rain World, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Whiskerwood. Most are leaving console, PC, and cloud simultaneously — Whiskerwood is the exception, dropping only from PC. This follows 11 games that already left the service on July 15, making July one of the bigger removal months in recent memory. Subscribers who want to keep any of these titles can grab a 20% discount before they disappear.

Celeste and Crusader Kings 3 are arguably the highest-profile losses here. Celeste — the critically acclaimed precision platformer from Maddy Thorson — has been a Game Pass staple for years and is widely considered one of the best indie games of its generation. Crusader Kings 3, Paradox's medieval grand strategy game, has a dedicated player base and a steady stream of DLC, so its removal will sting for strategy fans who relied on Game Pass to access it.

On the brighter side, Game Pass is getting Halo: Campaign Evolved on July 28 before the month closes out. For anyone on the fence about keeping any of the departing games in their library permanently, the 20% subscriber discount is the nudge to act before July 31.
