Fallout 4 mod Double Feature raises money for Alzheimer's research with Wes Johnson

A group of Fallout 4 modders led by Kinggath have released Double Feature, a new quest mod built over a single weekend as part of their annual charity modathon. The mod stars Elder Scrolls and Fallout voice actor Wes Johnson — the man behind Molag Bal, Sheogorath, and dozens of other iconic RPG roles — alongside Fallout actors Jan Johns and Leer Leary.

Double Feature sends players to Boston's civic archive, where two rival performers' gangs are fighting over the archived belongings of a long-dead pre-war singer. The mod includes a unique dungeon, a player home, a new companion, Vault Boy-themed power armor, and a new weapon. It's free to download on Nexus Mods. The associated Alzheimer's fundraiser has already cleared $5,000 against a current goal of $6,000 — well past its original $2,500 target — and combined with supporting campaigns from other modders involved, the total sits at $7,895. Johnson's participation is part of his broader Fallout-themed Voiceapalooza effort, a partnership with the Fallout For Hope charity.

This is the fourth annual collaboration between Kinggath's team and Wes Johnson, following previous charity mods including Shady Motives, Trunk's Malfunction, and last year's alien-themed Transmission Zeta. Kinggath is also the creator of Sim Settlements, the Fallout 4 settlement-building overhaul that PC Gamer named best mod of 2017. The annual modathon format — a full quest mod built in roughly 40 hours — has become a reliable fixture in the Fallout modding community.
