Geppy-X PS5 Review: Obscure PS1 Robot Shooter Is a Genuine Surprise

Geppy-X, a 70s super robot anime-styled shooter originally released on PS1, has landed on PS5 — and it turns out this obscure Japanese title holds up better than anyone might expect.

The game leans hard into the aesthetic of classic mecha anime from the 1970s, the era of Mazinger Z and Getter Robo, with over-the-top robot action and a deliberately campy tone.
