Ghost Recon Wildlands Definitive Edition leaked with 4K/60fps, new mission, and all DLC

A screenshot posted to the Ghost Recon Wildlands subreddit has revealed what appears to be a Definitive Edition of the 2017 open-world co-op shooter, spotted in an advert on the game's Xbox Game Hub. The listing confirms 4K resolution and 60fps support, a new mission, and all previously released DLC from both yearly season passes — but no release date has been announced.

The advert also hints at a discounted price offer that expires on 7th August — a date that lines up suspiciously well with Ubisoft's own plans. The official Ghost Recon X account confirmed the studio will share Ghost Recon news on 6th August to mark the series' 25th anniversary, adding: "It's been a while Ghosts! We know some of you saw some updates, we'll have more to say on 6th August." According to Insider Gaming, Wildlands is one of several legacy Ubisoft titles currently getting similar upgrade treatment, with Watch Dogs: Legion reportedly next in line.

The big question hanging over this is whether it's a genuine remaster or just a bundle repackage. The Division Definitive Edition, which leaked and launched in February, turned out to be exactly that — base game plus DLC plus some cosmetics, with no technical overhaul to speak of. If Wildlands follows the same template, the 4K/60fps support likely comes from a native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S build rather than any deeper rework. Wildlands launched in 2017 to a solid reception and built a dedicated co-op fanbase; its sequel Breakpoint had a rough launch and required months of post-launch overhauls, which may explain why Ubisoft is reaching back to the more fondly remembered entry for an anniversary release.

All eyes are now on 6th August, when Ubisoft has promised more Ghost Recon intel. Whether the Definitive Edition arrives that day or shortly after — the expiring offer suggests the latter — the community will at least finally get clarity on what exactly they're being sold.
