Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Gets Free Brand New Day Suit on July 28

Insomniac Games is adding a new free suit to Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on July 28 — three days before Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in theaters on July 31. The update drops on both PS5 and PC.

The suit is called the Fresh Start suit, and it's a revised version of the outfit Peter Parker briefly wore at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. That look was itself an amalgamation of the suits worn by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. According to one report, Tom Holland sought fan feedback during Brand New Day's production, and those revisions are reflected in the suit coming to the game. It's the first new Spider-Man suit added to Marvel's Spider-Man 2 since June 2024 — the game launched in 2023 and never received any DLC, unlike its predecessor.

Insomniac confirmed the update via social media. The studio is currently deep in development on Marvel's Wolverine, which launches on PS5 on September 15. Spider-Man will not appear in that game. A third Spider-Man game is expected to be in early development, but nothing has been announced — it could still be a year or two away.

Whether this suit update is a one-off or the start of more Marvel's Spider-Man 2 content is unclear. A Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse film is due next summer, which could prompt another suit addition, but Insomniac hasn't committed to anything beyond July 28.
