MSI's MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 lands at $899 as a direct follow-up to the MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED, bringing a refined design, an updated QD-OLED panel, and a genuinely useful USB-C port to the 34-inch ultrawide segment. It goes up against monitors like the Acer Predator X34 OLED, Samsung Odyssey G8, and the new Alienware AW3426DW.

The screen itself sticks with the proven 3440x1440 resolution and a 1800R curve, but MSI trimmed the chin, swapped the wide-legged base for a compact hexagonal stand, and added a proximity/ambient sensor below the panel. That sensor handles auto-sleep when you walk away and automatic brightness adjustment — useful for panel longevity on OLED. The stand covers a 20-degree tilt, 60-degree swivel, and 110mm of height adjustment, with 100x100mm VESA support if you'd rather wall-mount. Connectivity is strong: two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 2.1a port, two USB-A ports, and a standout USB-C port that runs the full 3440x1440 at 360Hz while delivering up to 98W of power delivery — a genuine win for laptop users. There's a 3.5mm audio jack but no built-in speakers. One persistent annoyance: the shortcut button next to the joystick still defaults to launching MSI's Intelligence Center software and can't be remapped without installing the app first.

The 341CQR QD-OLED X36 sits in a crowded but high-quality corner of the monitor market. QD-OLED panels have matured quickly over the past two years, and the 34-inch ultrawide curved format has become the go-to for PC gamers who want immersion without committing to a massive 45-inch screen. MSI's previous 341CQPX was already well-regarded, so this refresh is more about incremental polish — better stand, smarter sensor, improved USB-C spec — than a ground-up redesign.

At $899, the MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 is competitive for what it offers, especially given the 98W USB-C delivery that rivals skip or water down. Whether it edges out the Alienware AW3426DW or Samsung Odyssey G8 will come down to individual priorities around software, aesthetics, and panel calibration — but MSI has clearly closed the gap on the feature side.
