PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium July 2026 lineup: Avatar, Rise of the Ronin, two PS2 classics

Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog for July 2026, headlined by Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Rise of the Ronin, with nine games total spread across multiple release dates throughout the month.

Rise of the Ronin — Team Ninja's combat-focused open-world action RPG set in 1863 Japan — is already live for Extra and Premium subscribers in the US and UK as of July 15, and Japan on July 16. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the first-person open-world action-adventure set in the Western Frontier of Pandora, and Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, a co-op firefighting sim built on Unreal Engine 5, both go live globally on July 21. A second wave hits on July 28 in the US, UK, and Japan, bringing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind, the original Dying Light on PS4, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, and Snow Bros. Wonderland. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers also get two PS2 classics on July 21: Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Indigo Prophecy — both playable on PS5 and PS4. Sony notes it is still experimenting with staggered release timing in select markets; all regions outside the US, UK, and Japan get the full lineup on July 21.

This is a notably strong month for the catalog tier. Rise of the Ronin launched as a PS5 exclusive in early 2024 and received a solid but not spectacular reception — good enough that landing on PS Plus less than two years later gives a lot of players a reason to finally try it. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, similarly underperformed commercially at launch in late 2023, making its PS Plus debut a second chance at a wider audience. Indigo Prophecy — known as Fahrenheit outside North America — is David Cage's 2005 supernatural thriller and a cult classic worth revisiting. Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is one of the more critically acclaimed narrative RPGs of early 2025, so its arrival on the catalog this quickly is a genuine win for subscribers.

Sony is also reminding all PS Plus members — Essential tier and above — that July's free monthly games are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, For the King 2, and CrossCode, available separately from the catalog lineup.
