Amazon accidentally revealed the cover art for Spider-Man: Brand New Day's 4K UHD Steelbook and Collector's Edition over the weekend, then quietly pulled both images from its listings hours later.
The Steelbook features Spider-Man mid-fight against crime syndicate The Hand, while the $150.99 Collector's Edition recreates the iconic Amazing Fantasy #15 cover — the same image recreated in Brand New Day's opening scene. Walmart's listing adds that the Collector's Edition includes premium steelbook packaging with a magnetic lenticular cover, an original never-before-seen Spider-Man comic book, and extra exclusive collectibles, though no release date has been confirmed for any physical format. The standard 4K UHD preorder is currently $32.49 (down from $49.99), the Steelbook runs $44.99, and the Collector's Edition is out of stock at both Amazon and Walmart.
Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and has earned $655 million domestically and $1.01 billion internationally, putting it at $1.67 billion worldwide. That trajectory makes $2 billion look almost inevitable — which would push it past Spider-Man: No Way Home's lifetime gross.
Reaction to the leaked art is split. The Steelbook design has been widely praised, but the Collector's Edition cover landed poorly on r/Steelbooks, with commenters calling it an "easiest refund of all time" and dismissing the $150 price tag. Both listings have since reverted to the film's standard global poster.
