Xbox Game Pass is now bundled with Meta Horizon+ for $8 a month

Xbox and Meta have teamed up again — this time, a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass is included with a Meta Horizon+ subscription starting today, July 21. Horizon+ subscribers get access to 50+ games via cloud streaming directly on their Meta Quest headsets, with no separate Xbox subscription required.

The starter library leans on recognizable names: Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Grounded, Deep Rock Galactic, DayZ, Overcooked 2, and SnowRunner are all confirmed. Cloud gaming is capped at 10 hours per month, and a fast internet connection is required — Xbox recommends a 5GHz connection for smooth play. Meta Quest Touch controllers will soon be able to emulate an Xbox controller, and existing Xbox controllers can already be paired with the headset. Meta Horizon+ costs $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year. Players who want a bigger library can still subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate separately through the dedicated Xbox app on the Meta marketplace.

This isn't the first Xbox-Meta crossover. Last year the two companies launched the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition — a carbon black headset bundled with matching Touch Plus controllers, an Xbox controller, an Elite Strap, and a three-month Game Pass subscription. Meta Quest headsets have become a popular entry point into VR thanks to their wireless design and solid game library, though both the Quest 3 and Quest 3S recently saw price increases of $50–$100, which Meta attributed to a global memory shortage.

The move extends Game Pass to an audience that might not own a console or gaming PC, turning Horizon+'s existing $8-a-month subscriber base into a potential pipeline for Xbox's ecosystem. Whether the 10-hour monthly cloud cap is generous enough to keep those players engaged long-term is the obvious question — but as a low-friction entry point, the value proposition is hard to argue with.
