8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro adds a fifth programmable button and a tighter layout

8BitDo has revealed the Arcade Controller Pro, an upgraded leverless fight pad compatible with Switch, Switch 2, and PC. The announcement landed just ahead of EVO 2026 in Las Vegas.

The biggest addition is a new P5 input designed to sit under your left pinky finger. Like the existing bean-shaped buttons, P5 is fully programmable — useful for mapping special moves in games like Street Fighter 6 or Virtua Fighter 5. The P4 button has also been repositioned for easier reach, and the overall layout is slightly more compact so your fingers sit more naturally across the board. Visually, the Pro looks very close to the original Arcade Controller.

8BitDo has built a solid reputation for affordable, well-built controllers and accessories, and its original Arcade Controller was a budget-friendly entry point into the leverless fight pad market — a format that has grown significantly in competitive fighting game circles over the past few years. Timing the reveal around EVO, the biggest fighting game tournament in the world, is a smart move to reach exactly the audience that cares about this kind of hardware.
