Albion Online's Keeper Uprising seasonal event runs until August 31

Albion Online's Keeper Uprising kicked off on July 4 and runs through August 31 — a season-long event built around the Keepers, the world's original inhabitants who were displaced when the Royal Expeditionary Forces arrived. Developer Sandbox Interactive is framing it as the biggest seasonal event the game has seen in years.

The event introduces a series of missions, new enemies, and vanity rewards, all tied to a splinter faction called the Ashborn — a radical group of Keepers performing a mysterious ritual with potentially world-altering consequences. Scattered across the world are Keeper Memories, text fragments that players can collect and piece together to uncover the full story. Some are dropped by enemies; others are hidden in out-of-the-way corners of the map. The Albion Journal tracks collected Memories and surfaces hints pointing toward the ones still missing, turning lore-hunting into an active detective loop. Co-Creative Director Michael Schwahn confirmed the Memories are a permanent addition to the game, not a limited-time feature.

Sandbox Interactive is openly drawing comparisons to the Avalonian Invasion, a seasonal event from several years back that players still cite as one of the game's high points. That event blended narrative, new enemies, and evolving gameplay in a way that embedded itself into Albion's community lore — veterans still get asked about it by newer players who missed it. Schwahn says the Keeper Uprising is designed with the same philosophy: phases that unfold over time, with new encounters and story beats dropping gradually rather than all at once. Albion Online is a free-to-play sandbox MMORPG with a fully player-driven economy, available on PC and mobile.

The event is designed to work for both returning veterans and players brand new to Albion, and it's explicitly positioned as a lead-in to the game's next major content update. No details on that update have been shared yet, but the Keeper Uprising's story is expected to feed directly into it.
