Arc Raiders update 1.45.0 is live with rubber ducks, a new Raider Project, and a Cred expiry warning

Embark Studios dropped Arc Raiders update 1.45.0 today — the last live update before the major Frozen Trails expansion lands on October 8. It's a small patch, but it carries an important heads-up about the game's currency system.

The update adds a new Raider Project tied directly to Frozen Trails' incoming map. Players help Apollo investigate phantom arc signals coming from over the mountain range — the exact area the new map will open up. Completing the project tasks sets the stage for tracking down those signals and finding out whether Shani's concerns about them are justified. On the lighter side, three new community-made rubber ducks are now available to collect in Bird City and display in your den: a confetti duck, a penguin duck with a bowtie, and an X-ray duck. The update also kicks off the fifth Expedition and adds the Hornet Hunter Set. Embark also confirmed a smaller update is still planned before October 8, so the studio isn't going completely silent in the lead-up to Frozen Trails.

The bigger news buried in the patch notes is the retirement of Cred, Arc Raiders' existing in-game currency. Embark is replacing it with a broader reward system launching alongside Frozen Trails, and all current Raider Deck rewards will carry over into the new setup. Any Cred you've already spent on rewards stays with you — but any unspent Cred left in your account on October 8 will expire and become worthless. The studio's message is blunt: use it before then.

Frozen Trails itself promises new arcs, new maps set beyond the mountain range, and a movement overhaul — a substantial update for a game still finding its footing in early access. With one month to go and the groundwork being laid in 1.45.0, October 8 is shaping up to be Arc Raiders' biggest content drop yet.
