Asmongold gets 14-day Twitch ban after comments advocating shooting migrant children

Streamer Zack Asmongold Hoyt has been handed a 14-day suspension on his ZackRawrr Twitch channel — which has over 2.4 million followers — following a rant in which he repeatedly argued that migrants crossing borders illegally, including women and children, should be shot. His main Asmongold channel, with 3.5 million followers, remains active.

The comments that sparked the backlash came during a livestream where Hoyt reacted to content about Moroccan migrants entering Spain. "I'd shoot whoever — if it's kids, women, men, anybody, they're gonna stop coming over," he told viewers. When pushed on shooting an eight-year-old specifically, he said: "Well, I mean, if you have to, yeah, of course." Hoyt confirmed the ban length in a YouTube video posted over the weekend, noting that Twitch never emailed him an explanation — unusual, he said, given that he's received emails for far more minor violations in the past. "I'm just guessing it's probably the thing that everybody was mad about," he said. He added that he'll try to "tone" things down to avoid further suspensions, but was clear he isn't changing his views: "I apologize for absolutely nothing."

This is not Hoyt's first suspension. He was banned in April this year after saying he didn't care about "the opinions of illiterate third worlders," and was suspended in October 2024 after dismissing claims of genocide in Gaza and calling Palestinians "terrible people" from "an inferior culture." He apologized for those remarks at the time, saying "no one deserves to have their life destroyed" and promising to do better. That contrition is notably absent this time around. White nationalist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes has previously called Hoyt a "great ally," describing them as being "on the same team."

Hoyt says Twitch still hasn't formally told him what rule he broke, and neither the platform nor Hoyt's team has issued a public statement. The ban runs 14 days, and based on his YouTube video, he has no intention of walking back the substance of what he said — only the delivery.
