Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.6 Patch Notes Revealed

Ubisoft is dropping Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced update 1.0.6 tomorrow, August 4, at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK. Download sizes vary by platform: 15.2GB on Xbox Series X/S, 5.03GB on PS5, and a much leaner 1.8GB on Steam.

The headline addition is the ability to hide Edward Kenway's blowpipe — a cosmetic gripe players flagged early on, since the weapon juts awkwardly off his back. Once the update is installed, hit R2 while selecting an outfit in the inventory to toggle "Hide Gear" on or off. Beyond that, the patch is mostly bug fixes, but a few are worth calling out. Autosaves jump from 5 slots to 10, giving players more flexibility to roll back progress. A missing tutorial for throwing money — yes, that was a bug, not an oversight — has been added. A PC-specific issue locking cutscenes to 30fps when graphics were set to a custom Low preset is also fixed. On the pricing side, Ubisoft corrected a display error where the Kraken ship wheel showed an inflated cost — the patch notes cheekily note that "the Kraken wheel is wheely expensive." Other fixes cover parkour and sprint remapping conflicts, Brute Elites failing to charge, rope dart interruptions breaking Quick Use, and enemy ships dealing no damage when ramming the Jackdaw at certain angles.

Black Flag Resynced launched as a full remake of the beloved 2013 open-world pirate adventure, and Ubisoft has been actively patching it since release. The studio has also confirmed a New Game Plus mode is in the works, signaling continued post-launch support beyond routine bug fixes.

This update is light on new content but addresses some genuinely annoying edge cases — the blowpipe toggle in particular has been a consistent community request. Players can grab it across PC and consoles from tomorrow morning.
