Capcom producer won't confirm or deny a Super Street Fighter 6 update

Street Fighter 6 is now over three years old, and fans are starting to wonder whether Capcom is planning a major "Super" edition — but the game's producer isn't giving anything away.

Looking at the series history, Street Fighter IV got its Super update two years after its arcade debut, and Street Fighter V received its Arcade Edition just under two years after its 2016 worldwide launch. Street Fighter 6 has already outlasted both of those windows without a comparable release. The Years 1-2 Fighters Edition bundles post-launch character content, but stops well short of the kind of overhaul fans associate with a true Super update.

Street Fighter 6 launched in June 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 roughly two years later. Capcom has kept the game alive with a steady stream of DLC fighters across multiple seasons, which may explain why a full Super edition hasn't materialized — the live-service model spreads that content out rather than packaging it into one big release.

The producer's non-answer suggests Capcom isn't ready to announce anything, but also isn't ruling it out. With the game still active and a Switch 2 version freshly on shelves, Capcom clearly intends Street Fighter 6 to run for a good while yet.
