CD Projekt Red thanks 6,000 Edgerunners 2 preview attendees for keeping the show spoiler-free

At Anime Expo 2026, 6,000 fans attended an advance screening of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2's first episode at LA's Crypto.com Arena — and somehow, almost none of them leaked a single frame of footage. CD Projekt Red has now publicly thanked them for it.

CDPR's Japanese associate country director Satoru Homma was first to speak up on Twitter: "So far, the first episode streamed at Anime Expo hasn't leaked. Thank you so much for keeping your promise properly." Global PR director Radek Grabowski followed with an official statement: "We really appreciate everyone's understanding and for helping us keep the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 episode one screening at Anime Expo spoiler-free by not recording any footage. Let's all experience it and the rest of the season together when the show launches this fall."

The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, produced by Studio Trigger and released in 2022, became a genuine cultural phenomenon — it revived interest in Cyberpunk 2077 at a time when the game was still rebuilding its reputation, and the anime pulled in viewers who had never touched the game. That kind of legacy makes Edgerunners 2 one of the more anticipated anime releases of the year, which makes the attendees' restraint all the more remarkable. A shaky cam recording with a gambling site watermark would have spread across the internet in minutes.

For everyone who wasn't at Anime Expo, the wait continues until fall 2026. A first trailer and story and character previews are already out, so there's at least something to chew on in the meantime.
