Crimson Desert drops to $49 on PS5 in limited Amazon Lightning Deal

Crimson Desert on PS5 is down to $49 at Amazon right now — a Lightning Deal, so stock is capped and the price disappears once the allocated units sell out. That's a solid $20.99 off the standard $69.99 retail price, and according to price tracker camelcamelcamel it beats the game's previous Amazon low of $56.

The open-world action RPG from Pearl Abyss launched to mixed reviews but has clearly found its audience — the game recently crossed 6 million copies sold worldwide, and the studio has kept up post-launch support with ongoing updates. Pearl Abyss director of marketing and PR Will Powers spoke with IGN during Summer Games Fest about the team's plans for where the game goes next.

Crimson Desert is a sprawling action RPG set in a dark fantasy world, developed by Pearl Abyss — the South Korean studio behind Black Desert Online. The game had a long and turbulent development before finally releasing, which partly explains the mixed critical reception, but the sales numbers suggest word-of-mouth has done the heavy lifting since launch.
