D&D: World of Warcraft Announced — All WoW Classes, Races, and Renown Systems Coming to Tabletop

Wizards of the Coast and Blizzard have officially unveiled D&D: World of Warcraft, a full Dungeons & Dragons expansion set in Azeroth. Announced at Gen Con 2026, the book launches November 17 with early access starting November 3.

The expansion is packed with WoW content. All 13 WoW classes are playable, with six new subclasses, three modified ones, and over 40 class specializations. Eleven WoW-specific species join the roster — tauren, draenei, forsaken, trolls, and more — alongside WoW-flavored rules for existing D&D races like humans and orcs. Your species choice can even set a starting Renown Score with either the Horde or the Alliance. On top of that, the book includes 60-plus new spells, around 25-26 magic items (including mounts and companion creatures), 10 WoW professions for downtime crafting, and roughly 23-25 factions with full Renown reward tracks — grinding rep works just like it does in the MMO. Combat content covers 50-plus new monsters, 30 dungeon boss stat blocks, and seven iconic WoW dungeons including the Deadmines, Onyxia's Lair, and the Scarlet Monastery. A separate Icecrown Citadel Adventure Map Pack carries characters from level 16 to 20, ending in a showdown with the Lich King.

D&D: World of Warcraft is the first release under D&D's new Universes Beyond banner, which brings third-party franchises into the tabletop system — a direct parallel to Magic: The Gathering's long-running Universes Beyond card series. The expansion is designed to cover any era of WoW lore, so groups aren't locked into a single timeline. It's also the first official Warcraft tabletop product in roughly two decades, making it a notable moment for fans of both properties.

Players who preorder the $80 physical-and-digital combo edition, the Ultimate Bundle, or the Collector's Edition unlock D&D-themed cosmetics in WoW itself — a Black Dragon mount, Gazer pet, Mimic chest toy, and Mimic chest housing decor. The expansion also anchors D&D's upcoming Season of Champions, suggesting Wizards of the Coast is treating this as a major commercial push for the rest of 2025.
