Deltarune Chapter 5 launches June 24 as a free update on all platforms

Toby Fox revealed Deltarune Chapter 5 during the June Nintendo Direct, and it's arriving June 24 as a free update for everyone who already owns the game.

Deltarune launched alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 last year with its first four chapters of a planned seven-part saga. Chapter 5 drops as a free update across all platforms — Switch 1, Switch 2, PC, PS4, and PS5. Fox has been upfront about the pricing model from the start: "You only have to buy the game once — upcoming Chapters will be added as free updates. That's not factored into the cost, though. I only feel right charging for what there currently is, not what I say there will be. Therefore, this $24.99 to me represents the exact price of 4 chapters!" So Chapter 5 costs existing owners nothing.

Deltarune is Fox's follow-up to Undertale, largely developed solo. The Nintendo Direct also showed off footage from the new chapter alongside the release date announcement. With three chapters still to come after this one, the full saga is still a ways off — but June 24 gives fans the next piece of the story.
