Dispatch hits Xbox Series X/S on July 29 — no censorship, no Game Pass news yet

Dispatch, the superhero workplace comedy from AdHoc Studio, is coming to Xbox Series X/S on July 29. The game has been available on PC and PS5 since last October, with a Switch and Switch 2 release following in January — making Xbox the last major platform to get it.

AdHoc confirmed the date alongside a new trailer showing off the game's blend of choice-driven narrative and light turn-based strategy. Players step into the shoes of former superhero Robert Robertson — voiced by Aaron Paul — who now works as a dispatcher for a ragtag team of reformed villains. The Xbox version launches without the censorship issues that briefly plagued the Switch 2 release earlier this year; a patch last month fixed most of that, and AdHoc confirmed at the time that Xbox wouldn't face the same problem. The game was first announced for Xbox during March's Xbox Partner Preview showcase. No Game Pass release has been confirmed.

AdHoc Studio was founded by veterans of Telltale Games — the studio behind The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us — and Dispatch carries that DNA hard. It launched episodically on other platforms, though there's no word yet on whether the Xbox version follows the same chapter-by-chapter structure. Both Game Informer and IGN handed it a 9/10, with IGN calling it "a true spiritual successor to the Telltale Games of the 2010s" that "cleverly toes the line between TV show and video game."

Xbox players can wishlist Dispatch on the Xbox Store now ahead of the July 29 launch. Anyone who missed it on other platforms has had nearly a year to hear the word of mouth build — and it's been consistently strong.
