Fallen Aces Episode 2 is out now and barely looks like the same game

Fallen Aces, New Blood Interactive's comic book noir immersive sim shooter, just dropped its second episode — Shadow of Death — and it's available right now in early access. Until August 8, the game is on sale for $12, down from its usual $15.

Episode 2 looks like a serious expansion of scope. The new trailer shows car chases, sprawling city environments, medieval broadswords, and a stack of new guns — including a cartoony Mateba Model 6 Unica, the Italian revolver best known as the cyberpunk detective gun. It's a sharp contrast to the tighter, more contained levels of Episode 1, which impressed players with tense stealth, slapstick combat, and a pulpy story when the game first launched in early access in 2024.

New Blood has a pattern with its early access lineup: start cheap, raise the price as content is added, and take its time getting there. Fallen Aces launched at $10, climbed to $15, and now sits at $12 during the sale. The studio's other games are following the same slow-cook approach — Ultrakill recently added a new layer called Fraud, and Gloomwood has been accumulating increasingly wild additions like monster serums, armored pig constables, nonlethal takedowns, and a Rat Mode.

If you bounced off Fallen Aces early or have been waiting for more content before jumping in, Shadow of Death looks like a solid reason to revisit. The sale runs on Steam through August 8.
