Gamescom Opening Night Live: Every Confirmed Game and Rumor Ahead of the Show

Gamescom Opening Night Live kicks off the big week in gaming on August 25 at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET, hosted by Geoff Keighley. The two-hour showcase streams live on Twitch and YouTube, and it's just one piece of a packed week that also includes GTA 6's first official gameplay presentation on Netflix and the Pokémon World Championships.

Several games are already confirmed for the show. The headliners are The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, and Gears of War: E-Day. Rounding out the confirmed lineup are Ananta, Tides of Annihilation, Metro 2039, Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, and Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons. Opening Night Live typically also includes unannounced World Premieres, so the confirmed list is rarely the full picture.

On the rumor side, ratings board listings and an Instagram story have people expecting a Lego-themed Cities: Skylines city builder to show up. Leaker Nate the Hate has Ori fans buzzing about a possible series revival — though reportedly under a new developer rather than original studio Moon Studios, whose director has already called the rumors nonsense. There's also speculation that Hogwarts Legacy 2 could get a teaser following its recent official announcement.
