GigaBash's Ultraman Zero DLC adds Ultraman Zero and Ultraman Belial, bringing the roster to 30

Passion Republic Games has dropped the Ultraman Zero DLC for GigaBash, adding two iconic rivals to the kaiju brawler's roster: the heroic Ultraman Zero and the villainous Ultraman Belial. The release coincides with the Ultraman franchise's 60th anniversary.

Ultraman Zero fights with his signature Zero Sluggers and Emerium Slashes, built around Space Martial Arts — a mix of ranged projectile pressure and aggressive close-quarters rushes, punches, and kicks. Ultraman Belial goes the opposite direction: a fury-driven brawler who leans on fireballs, lightning, and the Giga Battlenizer, a weapon that works both offensively and defensively. The two characters are designed around their in-universe rivalry — one who resisted the temptation of power, one who embraced it — and Passion Republic says that thematic contrast gave the team a lot to work with during development. With these two added, GigaBash now has 30 playable characters total, including the rest of the Ultraman roster, other tokusatsu icons, and the original GigaBash cast.

GigaBash is a four-player kaiju arena fighter from Malaysian studio Passion Republic Games that launched in 2022. The game has steadily expanded through DLC collaborations, with the Ultraman franchise being one of its most prominent crossover partners — this DLC brings the Ultraman character count in the game to six. The Zero and Belial rivalry is one of the most celebrated in the Ultraman franchise, originating in the 2009 film Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends, so their addition together as a pair makes sense both narratively and as a fan service move for the anniversary.

Passion Republic specifically called out the dedicated fans who had been pushing for these two characters, saying they hope those players are "having the time of their lives." No pricing details were included in the announcement, but the DLC is available now.
