Granblue Fantasy Relink's Endless Ragnarok DLC is the best reason yet to finally play this underrated RPG

Granblue Fantasy Relink just got its Endless Ragnarok DLC, and it does something rare — it makes jumping into a grindy endgame-heavy RPG genuinely accessible without gutting the experience for veterans. Developer Cygames has added a rogue-lite side mode called the Conflux that streamlines the upgrade treadmill that previously kept new and returning players locked out of the good stuff.

The Conflux replaces the old system of grinding specific boss fights for specific random drops with something far more player-friendly. You run through monster-packed, puzzle-filled corridors, and at the end you pick your reward from a curated selection — upgrade materials for your Ascension weapon, stat-altering sigils, whatever you actually need. No more farming Lucilius for hours hoping the right sigil drops. Different Conflux tiers unlock as you progress through the main story, which runs around 10 to 15 hours, and the post-game options expand from there. Beyond the Conflux, Endless Ragnarok adds a substantial pile of new boss fights and playable characters on top of an already boss-heavy game.

Relink launched in early 2024 and earned a devoted following despite flying under the radar compared to bigger RPG releases that year. The game is built on the Granblue Fantasy mobile universe but plays nothing like a gacha — it's a polished action RPG that starts as a story-driven adventure and gradually shifts into Monster Hunter territory, with increasingly demanding boss encounters, weapon upgrade trees, and sigil-rolling at the in-game Knickknack Shack. That endgame loop was satisfying but demanding, and the barrier to entry for latecomers was real. The Conflux doesn't eliminate the grind so much as give players agency over it, which is a meaningful distinction.

For anyone who bounced off Relink's post-game wall or simply never got around to it, Endless Ragnarok is a compelling reason to finally commit. The core game is still one of the best action RPGs of the past few years, and this DLC makes the full package easier to recommend than ever.
