GTA 5 mod adds 235 destructible Flock surveillance cameras — and pays you $600 each to smash them

A new GTA 5 mod called GTALPR — Grand Theft Automated License Plate Reader — drops 235 fully destructible Flock surveillance cameras across Los Santos, letting players shoot, ram, and blow them up however they see fit. Modder Morry built it as a direct commentary on real-world Flock camera networks, and the whole thing comes with a built-in speedrun mode.

The cameras aren't just decorative. They actually photograph your vehicle as you drive past, and those snapshots can be saved and formatted for social media or a personal scrapbook. They'll also ping the cops to your location — sometimes even when you're not breaking any laws, which Morry points out mirrors how real Flock cameras behave. Destroying one drops a loot bundle worth $600 in-game cash, and a stats screen tracks how many you've taken out plus your fastest times to hit 10, 50, or all 235. The mod also lets you place your own cameras around the city to capture screenshots of your chaos.

Flock is a real private surveillance company valued at around $8 billion, operating over 100,000 cameras across the United States. Morry notes on TikTok that the 235 cameras in the mod represent roughly one-tenth of the Flock cameras currently installed in LA County alone — the real-world basis for Los Santos. The mod is essentially a playable protest, and Morry is blunt about it: "Flock is a scourge on America."

The mod is available now on GitHub. Morry does add a disclaimer at the end of the video: destroying Flock cameras in real life is illegal and will not, in fact, reward you with a $600 loot box.
