Indiana Jones gets a new Marvel comic series set right after Raiders of the Lost Ark

Marvel is launching Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium, a new limited comic series set in the timeline immediately following Raiders of the Lost Ark. The announcement came at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24, 2026.

Jason Aaron — best known for his acclaimed run on Thor — is writing the series. No artist, issue count, or release date was confirmed in the announcement.

Aaron is a strong fit for the material. His Thor work leaned heavily into mythology, pulp adventure, and larger-than-life set pieces, which maps well onto Indiana Jones' DNA. The franchise has a long history in comics, with Dark Horse publishing Indy stories for decades before Marvel picked up the license as part of Disney's consolidation of its properties.
