July's cozy game lineup is overflowing with cats

July is a big month for cozy games — 30 new releases are hitting PC, and a surprising number of them star cats. From puzzlers to town builders to adoption sims, feline fans have an unusually stacked lineup to work through.

The most anticipated launch of the month is Moonlight Peaks on July 7, sitting at #137 on Steam's overall wishlist chart and #8 among July releases according to SteamDB. It's a vampire farming sim that cozy game fans have been tracking for years. Other highlights picked by the cozy game community include A Simpler World (July 14, crafting and decorating), High Times (July 23, a comic book-style cafe dating sim), Bookbinding (July 24, a dark crafting shop sim), and Wabisabi SushiDerby (July 15, a sushi training sim of some kind). The cat-specific releases include Cat Squeeze, Cat Mail Co., Cat Chess, Sudoku Cats, Cat Isle, and Catio Simulator — covering spatial puzzles, a post office sim, strategy, logic puzzles, a feline town builder, and a cat adoption sim respectively.

Cozy games have long leaned into cats as a theme, but July's concentration is notable even by genre standards. The month also includes non-cat highlights: Cozy Grove Camp Spirit, a collectathon sequel, lands July 15, and Moss The Forgotten Relic brings puzzle platforming on July 16. Most titles have demos available, which makes it easier to sample before committing.

With 30 releases crammed into a single month, players will have plenty to sort through. The sheer volume means most titles will fly under the radar — but for cat lovers especially, July is worth a closer look at the full calendar.
