LEGO Harry Potter Turns 25 With a 3,491-Piece Ministry of Magic Set and the First-Ever Arabella Figg Minifigure

LEGO is marking 25 years of its Harry Potter range with the Ministry of Magic — a 3,491-piece set that includes the first-ever Minifigure of Arabella Figg. LEGO Insiders get early access on August 29, with a wide release following on September 1 to coincide with the franchise's annual Back to Hogwarts Day.

The set stands 51cm (20 inches) tall across three tiers. The surface level recreates the Leaky Cauldron and the iconic red telephone box entrance. The middle section shows the Ministry's multi-story offices and its golden fountain, while the rear reveals Umbridge's office and a Floo toilet. At the very bottom sits the Hall of Prophecy, complete with what appears to be the magical Veil. All 14 Minifigures are packed in: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Sirius Black, Kingsley Shacklebolt (with his Lynx Patronus), Nymphadora Tonks, Arthur Weasley, Mad-Eye Moody, Albus Dumbledore, Lucius Malfoy, Antonin Dolohov, and Professor Umbridge — plus the debut Arabella Figg figure. Pricing lands at $449.99 / £389.99 / €429.99, and no Gift With Purchase has been announced yet.

LEGO launched its Harry Potter line back in 2001, the same year the first film hit cinemas. Over the past quarter century, more than 200 sets have followed. The range holds a few firsts in LEGO history — it was the first line to introduce short Minifigure legs, the stubby non-bendable pieces now standard for child characters across all LEGO themes. The largest set in the range remains the 6,020-piece microscale Hogwarts Castle from 2018, making the Ministry of Magic a substantial addition but not quite a record-breaker on piece count.

With Back to Hogwarts Day serving as the launch window, LEGO is leaning into the annual fan celebration to give the anniversary set maximum visibility. Whether the Arabella Figg debut is enough to push fence-sitters toward the $450 price tag remains to be seen — no bonus gift with purchase means the set has to sell itself on its own merits.
