LEGO reveals five new Pokémon sets with prices up to $300 — preorders open now

LEGO has announced five new Pokémon sets launching in August and October 2026, and preorders are live today at LEGO's website and the Pokémon Center. The wave covers three Pokémon builds, an oversized trainer figure, and the first-ever LEGO Pokémon set to include proper minifigures.

The August 1 releases are Arcanine ($109.99, 1,190 pieces), Rayquaza ($129.99, 1,083 pieces), and Munchlax ($69.99, 757 pieces). Rayquaza recreates the Sky Pillar scene from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and includes an exclusive minifigure of Lorekeeper Zinnia — making it the only August set with a minifig. The two October 1 sets are the Up-Scaled Red Minifigure ($79.99, 930 pieces), aimed at kids 10 and up and designed to be in scale with the Smart Play sets launching in August, and the Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball ($299.99, roughly 2,339–2,386 pieces depending on the source). That Poké Ball set is the headline piece: it opens to reveal Professor Oak's lab on one side and a battle scene on the other, and comes with minifigures of Professor Oak, Picnicker, and Red, plus Pikachu and Eevee figures.

The Poké Ball set is a notable milestone — LEGO Pokémon sets to date have been display models or Smart Play builds, and fans have been asking for proper minifigures since the collaboration launched. LEGO and The Pokémon Company announced their first official set in January 2026, then followed up with 12 Smart Play sets in June. This wave adds five more on top of that, all recommended for adults except the Red minifigure. The sets are also available at select retailers beyond LEGO's own store.

Kotaku flagged the pricing as steep — $300 for the Poké Ball set is as much as a Nintendo Switch — but acknowledged the Oak's lab diorama is genuinely impressive. The Rayquaza set's inclusion of Zinnia is a pleasant surprise for fans of the Hoenn games. No community-wide reaction data is available yet, but preorders for LEGO Pokémon sets have historically moved fast, so grabbing one early is advisable.
