Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem shuts down October 15

Scopely has confirmed that Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem, the mobile RPG based on Warner Bros.' classic cartoon roster, is shutting down for good on October 15, 2026. The studio announced the closure in a blog post, saying the decision came "after a great deal of thought."

The shutdown rolls out in stages. Players can spend remaining in-game currency until August 16, the same day the game's social channels go dark. World of Mayhem gets delisted from digital storefronts on August 23, and the servers close entirely on October 15 — after that, the game is gone. To soften the blow, Scopely is running daily farewell giveaways from July 15 through the shutdown, handing out toons, WB Charms, and other resources. Free Toon Pieces for newly released characters will also be claimable from the Store during that window. "This isn't an easy goodbye," the team wrote. "We've watched Toonsters grow from strangers into teammates, and from teammates into true friends. We don't take that lightly."

World of Mayhem launched in 2018 as a character-collecting battle game built around the Looney Tunes IP — players assembled teams of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and the rest of the classic cast to fight in PvP wars. Scopely, the studio behind it, is best known for massive live-service hits like Monopoly Go and Pokemon Go, so World of Mayhem was always a smaller title in a crowded portfolio. The closure lands at an awkward moment for Warner Bros. Discovery, which is currently in the process of being acquired by Paramount — a deal that experts expect to go through despite ongoing attempts to block it.

No community reaction has surfaced yet beyond the developer's own farewell message, but the tight timeline — just three months from announcement to full shutdown — leaves players little runway. Anyone still active in the game has until August 16 to burn their currency before the economy winds down completely.
