Miles Morales Gets a New Spider-Man Series and His Classic Costume in August 2026

Miles Morales is getting a relaunched solo series this summer — Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 hits shelves on August 12, written by Bryan Edward Hill with art from Nico Leon.

Hill, known for Ultimate Black Panther, is building the story around a threat from Jefferson Davis's past that puts the entire Morales family in danger. The series leans into new characters on both the villain and supporting-cast sides, though Hill frames it less as replacement and more as expansion — adding narrative pathways rather than clearing the board. Miles' recent trip through the Ultimate Universe in Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion factors into his headspace, but Hill says the book won't dwell on it. Most visibly, Miles is back in his classic costume, which Hill summed up simply: "Can't beat the classics."

Miles has had a packed couple of years in Marvel continuity — a violent Deadpool crossover called Pools of Blood and a dimension-hopping arc in Ultimate Incursion that still has ripple effects across the broader Marvel Universe. Hill's pitch for Miles as a character centers on generational difference from Peter Parker: Miles brings a distinct modern mindset that Hill sees as the core of what makes him worth writing.
