Philips 65" 4K OLED Roku TV drops to $998 at Walmart

Walmart is selling the 65-inch Philips 974-Series 4K OLED Roku TV for $998 with free delivery — that's a rare sub-$1,000 price for an OLED panel with Roku built in. The deal is listed as limited time and ships directly from Walmart.

The 974-Series launched last year and runs an LG W-OLED panel, the same type used in the LG B5. It covers the full checklist for current-gen console gaming: native 4K, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDMI 2.1 inputs. You get the usual OLED strengths — near-instant response times, true blacks, effectively infinite contrast, and wide viewing angles — at a price well below most OLED competition. The standout feature is Roku, which the author rates above Google TV, Tizen, WebOS, and Fire TV for ease of use, clean interface, and low system overhead. The only other OLED TV with Roku built in is Roku's own Pro Series, which carries a $200 premium over this Philips.

For PS5 and Xbox Series X owners this is a straightforward win — HDMI 2.1 handles 4K/120 without compromise. Nintendo Switch 2 users get a slightly different picture: docked, the console tops out at 4K/60 or 1080p/120, so the 120Hz ceiling won't be fully exploited, but the OLED panel still delivers noticeably better image quality than a comparable LCD set at this price point. Philips is relatively new to OLED TVs, but sourcing an LG panel removes most of the risk that comes with an unfamiliar brand entering a premium display category.

At $998, this undercuts most 65-inch OLED options by a meaningful margin while adding Roku — a combination that's hard to find elsewhere right now.
