PlayStation Plus July 2025: Call of Duty Modern Warfare III, For the King II, and CrossCode headline the lineup

Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for July, and the lineup runs from July 7 through August 3. All three titles — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Cross-Gen Bundle, For the King II, and CrossCode — are available on both PS5 and PS4.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is the headliner. It picks up directly from Modern Warfare II with a new campaign following Captain Price and Task Force 141 as they hunt down ultranationalist war criminal Vladimir Makarov. Multiplayer brings back all 16 maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009), now with upgraded visuals and new modes. The Zombies mode goes open-world and lets multiple squads team up for the first time in the series. For the King II, the sequel to the roguelite tabletop RPG hybrid from IronOak Games, drops players into the kingdom of Fahrul where Queen Rosomon has gone full tyrant — up to four players can tackle the campaign in co-op or go it alone. It runs on an updated engine with refined mechanics compared to the original. CrossCode is the wild card: a retro 16-bit-style action RPG with tight physics, fast combat, dungeon puzzles, and a sci-fi story underneath it all. It leans hard into the balance between action-adventure puzzle design and RPG gear progression.

Modern Warfare III launched in late 2023 as a full-priced release and drew mixed reviews at launch — critics noted the campaign was shorter than expected, though the Zombies overhaul and returning Multiplayer maps were generally well received. For the King II arrived on PC in late 2023 and expanded on the original's cult following with more build variety and co-op depth. CrossCode has been a beloved indie since its 2018 PC debut, praised for its unusually dense puzzle design and smooth combat — it's the kind of game that tends to surprise players who pick it up without expectations.

For PS Plus subscribers who missed any of these, July is a solid month — especially with Modern Warfare III carrying a premium price tag on its own. As always, the lineup may vary by region, so checking the PlayStation Store on July 7 is the safest bet.
