PlayStation Store June 2026 top downloads: Escape the Backrooms leads US and EU, NBA 2K26 tops Asia

Sony has published the PlayStation Store download charts for June 2026, covering PS5, PS4, PS VR2, and free-to-play games across the US/Canada, EU, and Asia regions. Escape the Backrooms claimed the top PS5 spot in both the US and EU, while NBA 2K26 led the Asian charts.

On PS5 in the US and EU, the top tier was dominated by Escape the Backrooms, 007 First Light, UFC 6, EA Sports FC 26, NBA 2K26, and Minecraft. In Asia, NBA 2K26 and EA Sports FC 26 led, with Dave the Diver — from South Korean studio Mintrocket — landing third, a notable result for a regional title. Ghost of Yōtei appeared in all three regional PS5 charts, as did Resident Evil 4, Forza Horizon 5, and Grand Theft Auto V. The Asia chart also featured some distinct entries: Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles, Tekken 8, and Split Fiction. On PS4, Red Dead Redemption 2 topped both the US and Asia charts, with Gang Beasts, Batman: Arkham Knight, and the Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection all performing strongly. In PS VR2, I Am Cat led the US chart while Beat Saber topped Asia — and the Backrooms theme carried over, with Escape – Backrooms Horror VR appearing in all three regional VR rankings. In free-to-play, Fortnite and Roblox dominated the US, while eFootball and NTE: Neverness to Everness led Asia alongside regional titles like Where Winds Meet and Wuthering Waves × Cyberpunk.

Escape the Backrooms riding to the top of the PS5 charts is a striking result for a game built around the internet's liminal-space horror mythology — the kind of low-budget, community-driven concept that rarely dominates platform-wide charts. Its simultaneous appearance at the top of both US and EU rankings, plus the Backrooms VR spin-off charting in the PS VR2 section, suggests the franchise had a genuine cultural moment in June. Meanwhile, 007 First Light — the new James Bond game — landing second in both Western regions confirms it had a strong commercial launch. The Asia charts tell a different story, with sports titles and JRPGs like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Final Fantasy Tactics holding firm alongside the surprise Dave the Diver result.
