Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble opens pre-registration ahead of global mobile launch

Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, the free-to-play mobile hero shooter developed by Oh Bibi in collaboration with PlayStation Studios and Insomniac Games, has opened worldwide pre-registration on the App Store and Google Play. No firm global launch date has been announced yet, but the game is clearly moving out of its testing phase and toward a full release.

The game puts players inside a combat simulation built by Captain Qwark to train the next generation of Galactic Rangers — which is exactly as chaotic as it sounds. At launch, Ranger Rumble ships with 12 playable heroes and six game modes. The roster mixes familiar faces with brand-new characters, including Widget, a spunky investigative journalist Lombax, and Mopz, a mopey street gang member. The six modes cover team PvP, PvE wave defense, a battle royale-inspired format, and a football-with-guns showdown. Oh Bibi CEO Stanislas Dewavrin says the team worked directly with Insomniac on the design and backstories of the new Lombaxes, pulling in insights from original developers behind the series' most iconic titles. Pre-registering unlocks community rewards, including an exclusive Clank Suit skin for Widget.

Ratchet & Clank has been a PlayStation flagship since 2002, with Insomniac Games building the series across PS2, PS3, PS4, and PS5 — most recently with the acclaimed Rift Apart in 2021. Ranger Rumble marks the franchise's first proper mobile entry, and Oh Bibi's pitch is clearly to preserve the series' signature tone — wacky weapons, over-the-top humor, inventive level design — while rebuilding the action around short mobile sessions. The game soft-launched in Canada, the Nordics, France, and Asia over the past few months, and Oh Bibi says player feedback from those regional tests shaped the version now heading to global release.
