Razer Soma Chroma Is a $500 RGB Gaming Chair That Lights Up Your Back

Razer finally did it — the Soma Chroma is the company's first wireless RGB gaming chair, launching in July for $500 and available to preorder now.

The RGB lighting sits at the top of the chair around the shoulders and headrest, and it syncs wirelessly with over 300 PC games — including Borderlands 4, Battlefield 6, and 007 First Light. If you'd rather not run a cable to the wall, the chair has a built-in USB-C port and a pocket for a standard power bank. There are also 10 preset lighting modes and an onboard control panel to adjust brightness on the fly. On the build side, Razer is pitching a reinforced steel frame, dual-density cold-cured foam cushion, and a lumbar curve designed to keep you in a neutral sitting position during long sessions.

Razer has long been the butt of jokes about slapping RGB on everything it makes — mice, keyboards, headsets, mousepads, even a face mask at one point — so a glowing chair was always a matter of when, not if. At $500 it sits in the mid-to-upper range of gaming chairs, competing with established names like Secretlab and Herman Miller's gaming line.
