Saber's new CBO accidentally hints at a 2028 lineup including Space Marine 3, KOTOR Remake, and John Wick

Steve Allison, the former Epic Games Store boss who just joined Saber Interactive as Chief Business Officer this week, has already made waves — by accidentally sketching out what looks like a 2028 release slate while trying to reassure a fan about microtransactions.

The comment surfaced on the Space Marine subreddit, where Redditor its_treebeard shared Allison's reply to a question about monetization in Space Marine 2 and future titles. Saber confirmed to IGN the response is legitimate. Allison wrote that his job is not to "squeeze money" from Saber's products, pointed to the studio's existing approach — selling the main game with a free DLC plan and optional paid DLC — and acknowledged the voice pack controversy in Space Marine 2 that the team apologized for. Then came the line that grabbed everyone's attention: "I'm here to organize the group in preparation of the lineup forming for 2028 ... that includes Space Marine, Wick, hopefully KOTOR remake and a few unannounced titles." He also confirmed Space Marine 3 is "going to be all the things you love about 2 plus more."

Saber moved quickly to walk it back. A spokesperson told IGN that Allison "was speaking broadly, not officially, about the future slate" and that no release dates or launch windows have been confirmed. The studio redirected attention to its nearer-term releases — Turok: Origins and Hellraiser: Revival, both launching October 8. Still, the KOTOR remake mention is the first public signal about that project in years. The remake was announced back in 2021 by Aspyr, then quietly handed to Saber, and has been in near-total silence ever since. Allison's own background includes overseeing the Epic Games Store publishing side that funded Alan Wake Remaster and Alan Wake 2 — both released without any microtransactions — which at least gives some credibility to his monetization assurances.

The Space Marine community's reaction has been cautiously positive on the MTX front, but the 2028 window is what's driving the conversation now. Three major titles in a single year would be an enormous undertaking for any studio, and the "hopefully" attached to KOTOR suggests even Allison isn't certain it makes that window. Expect Saber to stay tight-lipped until it's ready for proper announcements — but for KOTOR fans who've been waiting in the dark since 2021, even an offhand Reddit comment counts as news.
