Just ahead of today's PlayStation State of Play, Silent Hill: Townfall quietly appeared on the ESRB's official website with a full age rating β a strong hint the game is set to show up during tonight's broadcast, possibly with a confirmed PS5 release date.
The ESRB handed it a Mature (M) rating for blood, strong language, and violence. The accompanying description sketches out the story and flags a couple of specific moments: the campaign includes a "close-up depiction of a character stabbing a body" and "a man being eaten by a monster."
Townfall is an indie take on the Silent Hill series, developed by No Code and published by Konami. It was announced back in 2022 alongside several other Silent Hill projects but has stayed unusually quiet since. An ESRB filing dropping right before a major Sony showcase is about as clear a signal as you get that something is coming tonight.
